Q: What does it mean if I got notified, I did not meet the reserve?
A: All Lots, unless stated otherwise, are offered subject to a Reserve price. (A reserve price is a minimum price that a seller would be willing to accept from a buyer. In an auction, the seller is not typically required to disclose the reserve price to potential buyers. If the reserve price is not met, the seller is not required to sell the item, even to the highest bidder. In the case the reserve is not met, one of our auction team members will reach out to the consigner to see if the highest bid may be accepted. The consigner has first right of refusal, and does not have to except any bid not meeting the reserve.)
In an unreserved auction, or if the item is unreserved the item is sold to the highest bidder on auction day, Owners are forbidden by contract from bidding on items they are selling. Bids are irrevocable, and all sales are final. If you're the highest bidder when the auctioneer announces that an item has been sold, you're the new owner of that item.
